The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has announced Austbrokers Chief Broking Officer Ben Bessell as its new board representative from Austbrokers.

Mr Bessell replaces AUB’s Chief Underwriting Officer Angie Zissis, who will step down from the NIBA board after three-and-a-half years of service on April 20.

Mr Bessell, currently Deputy President of the Australian and New Zealand Institute for Insurance and Finance, has 25 years’ insurance industry experience and was previously with IAG where he held several senior positions.

NIBA President Gary Okely says he is delighted to welcome Mr Bessell, while thanking Mr Zissis for his “significant contribution to NIBA and the NIBA board through what has been a defining period in the association’s history”.
