Annual claims excellence awards set for July 27

Winners of the seventh Mansfield Awards for claims excellence are set to be announced on July 27 in Sydney, with a survey seeking input from brokers, insureds and service providers now completed.

The annual awards are named after Lord Mansfield, the British Lord Chief Justice who introduced the concept of utmost good faith into insurance contracts more than 250 years ago.

Organiser LMI Group will reveal the winners across six categories. They are Personal Lines; SME Property and Casualty; Corporate Property and Casualty; Speciality Lines; The Gold Mansfield; and The Purple Mansfield.

The Gold Mansfield goes to the overall highest ranking claims team and the Purple Mansfield recognises a company or individual that has gone above and beyond and provided service that has made a real difference to a client or a community.

Tickets are still available for the event at the Establishment Ballroom.

All proceeds will go to the Amal Mulia Orphanage in Bengkulu, Indonesia, which is near Fort Marlborough – the location of the claim that gave rise to Lord Mansfield’s 1766 decision that general insurance needs to be based on utmost good faith by all parties to the contract.
