HDI Global Australia sees good response to motor fleet expansion

HDI Global says an Australian motor fleet product launched through a national roadshow strengthens its offering and has gained a positive early response.

“We could not be happier with how the product has been received in the market,” Underwriting Manager Motor Australasia Khoder Chehade tells insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“The feedback from both brokers and clients has been very positive. However, where the rubber hits the road, pardon the pun, is submission flow. We have seen a solid flow of submissions since launching the product, a number of which we have bound as new business.”

The product, introduced at events in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide attended by more than 500 brokers, is available for all vehicle classes including heavy motor, mobile construction plant and equipment (including mining) as well as light commercial vehicles such as sedans, utility vehicles and 4x4s.

“What makes this HDI Global Motor Fleet offer unique is we offer insurance for all vehicle classes under the one well-researched, comprehensive wording,” Mr Chehade said.

The addition of motor fleet strengthens HDI Global’s Australian offering and the ability to further support clients across the existing lines of property, liability, marine, accident and health and engineering and construction, the firm says.

“The motor fleet market in Australia is competitive and we certainly respect the quality of our competitors,” Mr Chehade said. “We do feel, however, that we are well placed to sustainably grow in the coming years.”

Mr Chehade started with HDI Global last year after more than a decade at Zurich where he specialised in motor, including large complex/corporate motor.

“We are thrilled Khoder has joined our team to bring our new HDI Global Motor Fleet product to market, giving our broker partners and clients more choice,” Head of HDI Global Asia Pacific and HDI Global Australia MD Stefan Feldmann said.

Mr Chehade is well-versed in managing relationships with brokers and direct customers across various market segments, developing business plans and providing clear direction on strategy and operational issues, Mr Feldmann says.
