Workers’ compensation explained
The Australian Safety and Compensation Council (ASCC) has completed an unenviable task and managed to explain the complex world of workers’ compensation.
The council has released the 2007 edition of the Comparison of Workers’ Compensation Arrangements in Australia and New Zealand.
The report aims to help stakeholders understand workers’ compensation in Australia and NZ. It also provides background to the evolution of the various schemes, detailing coverage, benefits, return to work provisions, self-insurance, common law, dispute resolution and cross border arrangements.
ASCC Chairman Bill Scales says the report will be a useful resource for employers, workers, practitioners in the field and policymakers.
