WorkCover SA appoints new CEO
The man credited with turning around the fortunes of WorkCover NSW has been appointed to do the same thing in SA.
WorkCover NSW GM Workers’ Compensation Division Rob Thomson will take over as CEO of WorkCover SA on June 15, replacing Julia Davison.
Workcover Board Chairman Philip Bentley says Mr Thomson led a “financial turnaround” of the NSW WorkCover scheme.
The financial position of WorkCover SA has improved in the past few years, achieving a six-month profit of $148 million at December 31. Its unfunded liability currently stands at $911 million, down from the $1.3 billion at the end of 2008.
That followed a $238 million profit and $313 million loss in the previous two six-month reporting periods.
