Watchdog gets more resources
The Federal Government has boosted funding for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission by $2.2 million. The regulator will receive an extra $1.6 million to fund a better regulation initiative program designed to enhance the decisions it makes. It has also received $600,000 to fund a scheme to more quickly reunite consumers with their unclaimed money.
The Government says the allocation will help reduce costs for businesses and improve the regulatory framework.
