WA state insurer announces new commissioners

The Insurance Commission of Western Australia (ICWA) has named three new commissioners to its board and appointed Commissioner Rob Bransby as Deputy Chairman.

Emma Scotney, Alan Rees and Julie Keene took up their roles on January 1, replacing former board members John Scott, Carol Dolan and Yasmin Broughton.

Ms Scotney is a corporate lawyer with 25 years’ combined experience within the resources and agricultural sectors, Dr Rees has more than two decades experience in financial services internationally and Ms Keene is a chartered accountant with 20 years of non-executive director experience across community services, education and tourism industries.

WA Premier Mark McGowan says the new commissioners bring “critical technical and corporate experience” to ICWA, which provides motor injury insurance to more than 1.9 million drivers and three million vehicles in the state.

ICWA also manages the self-insurance arrangements of the Government, and invests and manages funds to provide assets to meet insurance liabilities.
