WA holds second bushfire mitigation summit
The WA Government will hold a bushfire mitigation summit this month, and will include input from volunteer firefighting brigades.
The forum will discuss how to deploy better bushfire management techniques throughout the state, and co-ordinate efforts to improve community safety.
The forum will also focus on design and function of the Bushfire Centre of Excellence.
Volunteer associations, government agencies and regional advocacy groups have also been invited to attend.
The WA Government also held a bushfire mitigation summit last year.
“We are entering a new era of bushfire management and through more funding assistance for local governments and agencies, and greater collaboration with volunteers, we can help make our communities safer,” Emergency Services Minister Francis Logan said.
