WorkCover WA has increased the number of offences that can be addressed with infringement notices and modified penalties.

The changes are most likely to affect employers that do not keep current workers’ compensation policies.

Failure to keep a policy and contravening a requirement made by an inspector are among the offences added. Previously such offences could only result in prosecution.
