WA budgets $1.4 million for bushfire risks
The WA Government has allocated $1.47 million to managing bushfire risks under its new $15 million Mitigation Activity Fund.
The money will be shared among 15 local governments to tackle 374 bushfire risks.
“We face an ever-drying climate in WA, with bushfires that can be devastating, so we have to increase our focus on trying to prevent natural disasters where possible,” Emergency Services Minister Fran Logan said.
“The Mitigation Activity Fund follows on from funding for the bushfire risk management planning process, which helped local governments identify the risks they faced.”
