VMIA recruits O’Connor as CEO
The Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) has appointed Paul O’Connor as CEO, replacing Warren Hutcheon.
He will join the state-owned insurer on September 1 after serving a five-year term as CEO of Federal Government insurer Comcare.
Mr O’Connor is Deputy Chairman of maritime workers’ compensation agency Seacare Authority and a former member of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission.
He is also a former CEO of the Victorian Transport Accident Commission.
VMIA Chairman John Peberdy says Mr O’Connor “has been asked to bring fresh thinking and innovation to VMIA’s work and service delivery”.
Mr Hutcheon left to become CEO of community and faith insurer Ansvar.
