Victoria reviews WorkSafe, TAC
The Victorian Government will hold a review aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of WorkSafe and the Transport Accident Commission.
James MacKenzie, a former chairman of both organisations, will lead the review and report back by the middle of this year.
The State Government says it is committed to relocating WorkSafe’s head office from Melbourne to Geelong.
Workplace injuries cost Victorian employers more than $1.7 billion every year.
However, the state claims to have the safest workplaces in the country, with injury rates at a record low of 7.37 claims per million hours worked last financial year.
