Peter Neilson, a former Director of Launceston insurance agency PR Consultants Pty Ltd, has been sentenced to 15 months’ jail for receiving insurance premiums of more than $115,000 and not passing them on to the appropriate insurance companies within the required 37 days.

Mr Neilson, 47, still owes one insurer about $54,000. Under the sentence imposed by the Tasmanian Supreme Court, he will be released after serving 10 months and will be placed on a two-year good behaviour bond.
