Super crook banned
Former Sydney broker George Nikiforidis has been permanently banned from providing financial services.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) says Mr Nikiforidis, 38, provided superannuation advice to players and employees of the Sydney Olympic Soccer Football Club between 2000 and 2003, but transferred their payments to his own personal accounts and to two other companies of which he was the sole director – Taxi Insurance Services (in liquidation) and Taxi Insurance Brokers.
Taxi Insurance Brokers was deregistered in August 2007. Mr Nikiforidis is currently before the NSW Local Court facing charges.
