SA insurance agent faces 10 charges
ASIC has also laid 10 charges against former South Australian insurance agent Janice Lewinski for allegedly breaching the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act. The regulator alleges that between August 1999 and October 2000, while Ms Lewinski was the sole proprietor of Harrerds Insurance Agencies, she received insurance premiums from clients under proposed contracts of insurance, but did not pass this money on to the insurance companies.
Ms Lewinski did not appear in court and the matter has been adjourned until January 31.
