Relief on financial reporting

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has announced amendments to some class orders that have been effective from June 30.

Benefit fund friendly societies registered under the Life Insurance Act 1995 have been relieved from certain financial reporting requirements.

General insurers have been offered relief from any requirement to consolidate NSW workers’ compensation statutory funds or to include their assets, liabilities and results in single-entity statements that relate to financial performance. This relief will not be offered after January 1 next year.
