Reinsurance pool sets out terrorism conference program
The Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation has announced the program for its international conference later this year.
The Global Terrorism Risk Insurance Conference, held in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), is in Canberra from October 6-7.
The event was previously held at OECD headquarters in Paris in 2010 and 2012 and at the US Department of Treasury in Washington in 2014.
Sessions will address the nature and extent of the terrorist threat; chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological threats; cyber terrorism; and the human cost.
National Counter-Terrorism Co-ordinator Greg Moriarty will be among the headline speakers, with other experts including Australian Federal Police National Manager Counter-Terrorism Neil Gaughan and Lowy Institute Research Director Anthony Bubalo.
Assistant Treasurer Kelly O’Dwyer is scheduled to make a ministerial address, with other speakers and panelists including ARPC Chairman Joan Fitzpatrick, Guy Carpenter Vice Chairman Paul Allison and CEO of Pool Re, the UK terrorism pool, Julian Enoizi.
Co-ordinator of the Australian Cyber Security Centre Clive Lines, Lloyd’s General Representative in Australia Chris Mackinnon, Placement Services Manager at Willis Australia Stella Pruscino, and XL Catlin’s Head of Crisis Management (UK and Ireland) are also set to feature.
