Regulator seeks whistleblower protection input
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission is calling for submissions on its proposed guidance for companies to implement protections for whistleblowers.
Companies and super trustees must implement and activate a whistleblower policy by January 1. The proposed guide must include how companies will support and protect whistleblowers and handle and investigate disclosures.
“Implemented appropriately, whistleblower policies will help companies to comply with their legal obligations to protect whistleblowers from being identified and to protect whistleblowers from detriment,” says Commissioner John Price.
