RACQ steps up push for CTP reforms
RACQ held a citizens’ jury in Brisbane over the weekend as part of its public campaign to push for reforms to the compulsory third party (CTP) scheme in Queensland.
More than 40 Queenslanders are on the jury, where they will provide input on how best to improve the fault-based system.
“Some people believe the current CTP scheme in Queensland isn’t doing the best job possible to protect Queensland motorists injured in motor vehicle crashes,” Chief Communications Officer Paul Turner said.
“We felt that this was something we should investigate. With your help, we want to look at the current CTP scheme, compare it to other schemes around the country, and see how it stacks up.”
Apart from a citizens’ jury, RACQ has also launched a public survey as part of its Rethink CTP campaign.
The survey is open to all Queenslanders to provide feedback and the last date for participation is March 3.
