Queenslanders hit by another CTP rise
Higher fuel tax, registration fees and compulsory third party (CTP) insurance hikes that came into effect last week are about to undo car ownership and running cost savings made by Queenslanders in the past year.
Queenslanders now pay one of the highest CTP premiums in the country and by far the highest registration fee after a 20% hike.
Last week CTP premiums rose 3% from last quarter, or 13% from a year ago. They are now between $337 and $340 as set by the Motor Accident Insurance Commission.
