The Queensland Government has dropped plans to introduce a flood levy to raise money for mitigation work.

The proposal to fund levees and other protection projects was revealed earlier this month and was to be announced in next week’s budget.

But the Government will not proceed with the charge, according to Treasurer Tim Nicholls.
