Former assistant treasurer Helen Coonan has been named chairman of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority.

She served as federal assistant treasurer and revenue minister in the Howard Government.

“Ms Coonan will bring a wealth of expertise and experience to her position,” Revenue and Financial Services Minister Kelly O’Dwyer said.

The one-stop dispute resolution scheme will start receiving cases no later than November 1.
