The Reserve Bank of New Zealand plans to publish revised insurance solvency standards during the first quarter.

Head of Prudential Supervision Toby Fiennes says insurers will be consulted on further clarification of standards such as off-balance-sheet exposures.

The bank has also released a consultation paper on how guarantees may be treated for solvency calculation.
