NZ gazette outlines lockdown exemptions for insurers
New Zealand health authorities say licensed insurers and broking services can carry on operating in the current lockdown, subject to the conditions as set out in a government gazette.
Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield issued the gazette last week, which lists insurers, broking services and also other financial services as “critical” to the functioning of New Zealand’s markets, and for the flow of cash and capital to businesses, investors and consumers.
The gazette was issued as New Zealand is in a maximum Alert Level 4 lockdown, until tomorrow at least, in a bid to contain the spread of the highly infectious Delta variant of COVID-19.
