NSW to release building review paper
The NSW Government is to reveal proposed building law reforms following a review of current arrangements.
The review considered whether the home warranty insurance scheme imposes unnecessary costs and regulations on builders and homeowners, and sought ways to simplify the legislation.
“A comprehensive package of reforms has been developed for the Government’s consideration after public consultation and stakeholder roundtables,” a budget-related performance report says.
A position paper on the reforms will be released later this year while legislation is being drafted.
