NSW names construction expert as Building Commissioner
The NSW Government has appointed David Chandler Building Commissioner, as part of the state’s reform measures for the embattled construction industry.
“[He] will lead the implementation of this reform and will advise the Government on additional reforms that may be needed to ensure better protections for homeowners and purchasers, and lift building standards across NSW,” Better Regulation Minister Kevin Anderson said.
Mr Chandler is a Western Sydney University Adjunct Professor in Construction Management and has more than 40 years’ experience in the industry.
He was the construction director for the Federal Parliament building and Principal of CE Advisory, which offers advice in the construction business, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Mr Chandler starts his role on August 14.
