NSW insurance regulator seeking new CEO
The NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) will advertise for a new CEO to take over from Carmel Donnelly, who is set to become chairman of the state’s Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal by July.
Ms Donnelly, who has led SIRA for almost four years, will stay on as CEO while a recruitment process is conducted.
The agency last week announced that Ms Donnelly would be leaving after a term that included implementation of 2017 compulsory third party scheme reforms and a strengthened regulatory approach.
Ms Donnelly has stepped up scrutiny of the workers’ compensation schemes managed through icare, as the Nominal Insurer scheme faced criticism over its performance following major changes.
