NSW fire trail project receives federal boost
The Commonwealth will give NSW more than $638,000 to fund bushfire mitigation projects.
The money is from the $15 million National Bushfire Mitigation Program, set up to help states and territories.
“Most of this funding allocation is directed to maintenance works on fire trails in some of the state’s most difficult-to-access areas,” NSW Emergency Services Minister Troy Grant said.
“Our firefighters need to get to fires before they reach properties and threaten lives, and the best way to ensure this is to have a properly maintained network of fire trails.”
