New WorkCover WA legislation to improve the compensation scheme for family members of workers killed at work came into effect this month.

The changes include bigger lump sum payouts, significant increases in the weekly children’s allowance and faster claims processes.

De facto partners will also be given the same compensation rights as spouses.
