Peter Kell will begin a five-year term as Deputy Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) on May 6.

He joined ASIC as a commissioner in 2011 after serving as deputy chairman of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and CEO of consumer group Choice. Mr Kell has also worked with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

Cathie Armour will begin a four-year term as a full-time ASIC commissioner from June 3. She is an executive director and General Counsel of Macquarie Capital.
