WorkCover WA has opened the application process for insurers to renew their approvals to issue workers’ compensation policies.

Applications must be submitted by September 1 and will be considered by the agency’s board at its November meeting, when it will make recommendations to the Minister, Simon O’Brien.

Insurers will hear the outcome by December 31.

There are eight approved insurers in the WA workers’ compensation market and it is dominated by QBE, CGU, GIO and Allianz.
