Industry given disclosure relief in AFCA transition
Financial businesses have until July next year to update their mandatory disclosure documents and periodic statements with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority’s (AFCA) contact details.
The disclosure relief also applies to superannuation trustees.
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission says it will “continue to work with all [external dispute resolution] scheme stakeholders to ensure the transition to AFCA is as smooth as possible for both financial firms and consumers”.
The new one-stop dispute resolution body will accept complaints from November 1.
