Insurance and Care NSW has appointed Gallagher Bassett as the Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF) claims manager.

HBCF is undergoing a series of changes, aiming to provide better services to NSW homeowners.

Last month it named 24 brokers to act as distributors, and also introduced a self-service portal to give builders greater access to their policies.

HBCF GM Jon East says Gallagher Bassett has “the skills, expertise and knowledge required to ensure existing and new customers receive a high-quality and consistent experience”.

Gallagher Bassett will contact claimants to transition claims from previous providers. 

Insurance and Care NSW says the appointment follows a “robust open tender process”.
