icare reaches out to rural employers

Insurance and Care NSW (icare) will hold more tailor-made forums in rural areas as part of a wider effort to step up its engagement with regional employers and service providers.

The rural push aims to help regional clients understand better the functions of icare.

The initiative follows icare’s visits since January to Albury, Coffs Harbour and other regional NSW towns for face-to-face sessions with employers.

“In the past, most employers, particularly in regional areas, simply never had the time or the means to fully understand and make the most of what can be a very complex system,” Group Executive Personal Injury Claims Beth Uehling said.

“Our engagement has been met with enthusiasm and we have gained valuable insights into what our customers care about most.

“Our mobile engagement team is looking forward to returning to regional NSW because our customers want to see us again, and regularly.”

Handling workers insurance claims, injury risk factors and how premiums are calculated are some of the issues that concern rural clients most.
