Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand CEO Gary Young has joined the board of dispute resolution scheme Financial Service Complaints Limited (FSCL).

New Zealand has four financial services dispute schemes. Mr Young told insuranceNEWS.com.au most brokers have joined FSCL, which is private. Insurers tend to join the Insurance and Savings Ombudsman scheme, but some are FSCL members.

Mr Young will be one of two industry representatives on the five-member board, the other being a PricewaterhouseCoopers partner.

There are also two consumer representatives, plus Chairman Kenneth Johnston, who says Mr Young will provide a strong industry voice and insight.
