Hayne turns to regional insurance issues

Regional communities’ issues with natural disaster insurance will be a focus of the Hayne royal commission’s fourth round of hearings, starting later this month.

The royal commission is expected to examine issues around the cost and availability of property insurance in northern Australia, as well as other issues involving regional communities and businesses.

Farming finance and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders’ interactions with financial services providers are also on the agenda.

The hearings will be in Brisbane from June 25-29 and Darwin from July 2-6.
