Government offers more refinements
Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer Chris Pearce has announced new regulations that include more guidance on the amount of disclosure in documents required for general insurance products. The changes include statements of advice, financial services guides and dollar disclosure requirements.
Mr Pearce says the regulations implement some of the more “technical amendments” to address issues that were identified during the Corporate and Financial Services Regulation Review process last year.
He says the draft regulations contain several other measures to streamline disclosure requirements that will reduce the regulatory burden on business.
A public consultation process has a deadline of April 23 for submissions.
