Former Suncorp executive appointed to ARPC board
The Australian Reinsurance Pool Corporation (ARPC) says the Federal Government has appointed former Suncorp Bank CEO David Foster to its board.
Mr Foster, who has also held senior roles for Westpac, is a non-executive director at Youi Insurance, Genworth and Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and is Chairman of Motorcycle Holdings and G8 Education.
“David Foster’s appointment will benefit ARPC as he has extensive financial services experience across banking, insurance, customer strategy, technology strategy, risk management and governance,” ARPC CEO Christopher Wallace said.
ARPC has also welcomed the Standards Australia publication of a commercial building risk mitigation handbook after it submitted a proposal in support of the project.
“The handbook will help owners and operators of commercial buildings to identify and assess building risks linked to terrorism and other acts of extreme violence, and to apply suitable controls to mitigate the risks,” Dr Wallace said.
The 85-page publication, titled Base-building physical security handbook - Terrorism and extreme violence (HB-188), was released in draft form in 2020.
ARPC submitted a proposal to Standards Australia in 2018 for the development of a handbook to support proactive risk management of large-scale infrastructure.
