FMA confirms new enforcement head

New Zealand regulator the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) has promoted Acting Head of Enforcement Margot Gatland to the position permanently.

“We received a high level of interest from both local and overseas candidates. The interest in the role reflects the high regard in which the FMA is held, and we’re delighted that we have the right skills and experience inside the FMA with Margot,” FMA General Counsel Liam Mason said.

Ms Gatland began working at the FMA in 2017 as a senior solicitor. Previously, she operated as a litigation lawyer in the UK and New Zealand.
