The Federal Government has called for submissions for next year’s Budget, which is set for an earlier-than-usual date in March due to the election timetable.

Assistant Treasurer Michael Sukkar says individuals, businesses and community groups are welcome to make submissions on their priorities, with the government placing “considerable importance” on input received in developing budget strategy and policies.

The parliamentary sitting calendar for next year has the Budget pencilled in for March 29, instead of the usual date in early May. The next Federal election is due to be held by late May.

Pre-budget submissions must be lodged by January 29.
