Disaster risk taskforce’s advice awaits next government
Advice from the Insurance Affordability and Natural Hazards Risk Reduction Taskforce will be a matter for the winner of next month’s federal election.
The taskforce, announced in last year’s May budget, concluded at the end of last year, but no findings or recommendations have been released.
“The ... taskforce has provided its advice to government for consideration,” a spokesperson for the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet told insuranceNEWS.com.au.
The Albanese government previously said the taskforce would ensure a “cross-government approach” to risk reduction and its work would be “informed and complemented” by the Hazards Insurance Partnership.
