The Cybercrime Act was one of a raft of legislation to receive assent on October 1. The new Act becomes part of the Criminal Code Act 1995. In a bulletin, law firm Freehills said new computer offences will address forms of cybercrime “which impair the security, integrity, and reliability of computer data and electronic communications”.
