Court restrains broker
Unregistered broker Alejandro Bejares from Caulfield in Melbourne has been given final restraining orders from the Federal Court of Australia, stopping him from entering into any contracts.
ASIC charged Mr Bejares with organising a number of contracts for general insurance between January 1 1999 and May 31 2001 despite the fact that he was not a registered broker. Earlier this year he pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court to 15 charges of misleading conduct related to insurance contracts. He was convicted and placed on good behaviour for two years and fined $2000.
