Cladding sparks code amendment
The Australian Building Codes Board will amend the National Construction Code to address issues related to flammable cladding.
The amendment will include reference to a new technical specification for the permanent labelling of aluminium composite panels, and enhanced fire safety measures for early childhood centres in high-rise buildings.
The “out-of-cycle amendment” responds to recommendations included in the Shergold Weir “Building Confidence” report.
Stakeholders can comment on the draft amendment by October 11. Click here for more information
