The Federal Government plans to extend access to tax deductible donations to all volunteer fire brigades.

Assistant Treasure Bill Shorten says the Victorian bushfires highlighted the importance of volunteer brigades to rural communities.

“Australia’s volunteer firefighters and state emergency services perform an essential community service, and this legislation will provide important assistance in attracting community support for the bushfire season,” he said.
