ASIC streamlines regulation guides
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is ditching its guides and policy statements.
The regulator is streamlining its documents into four formats: consultation papers, regulatory guides, reports and information sheets.
“The new documents and road map improve the accessibility of ASIC’s regulation, making it easier for everyone to find out what decisions we’ve made and understand our approach,” Executive Director of Regulation Malcolm Rodgers said.
The new regulatory guide 36, covering the licensing and dealing of financial advice, will include topics covered in the frequently asked questions section, which will be removed from the ASIC website.
