ASIC signs fintech deals with US, Luxembourg
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has added the US and Luxembourg to its growing network of fintech partners.
It announced separate fintech agreements last week with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Luxembourg.
The arrangement with the CFTC will see ASIC and its US partner focus on information sharing about fintech trends and developments, facilitate referrals of fintech companies and exchange insights in other areas.
“Technological changes are continuing to reshape financial services, markets and the regulatory landscape,” ASIC Chairman James Shipton said.
“Today’s arrangement assists innovative businesses to grow across borders and allows for greater information sharing and co-operation by the two regulators.”
The agreement with the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier involves providing a framework for sharing information on fintech and regtech.
