ASIC reports on market integrity
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has released its half-yearly report on market integrity, with a focus on deterrence, standards and education, and behavioural change.
The July-December report outlines the work of the regulator’s market integrity group, which focuses on ensuring licensed markets are fair, orderly, transparent and efficient.
ASIC recently ran an education campaign to encourage the reporting of suspicious market activity.
A new form was put on the market entity compliance portal, to make lodging reports easier.
On average, 96 matters are under investigation at any time, ASIC says.
