ASIC, APRA figures to speak at actuaries’ seminar
Two regulators will speak at the Actuaries Institute’s Responding to Risk seminar this Wednesday.
Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA) Head of Governance, Culture and Remuneration Fahmi Hosain and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) Senior Executive Leader Market Supervision Greg Yanco will talk from about noon.
APRA and ASIC have increased their focus on risk culture in corporations.
The former aims to strengthen its capacity to assess institutions’ risk culture and provide supervision for those needing assistance, and the latter is focused on organisations undergoing technological or regulatory change.
Mr Hosain will provide an update on APRA’s pilot reviews on risk culture.
Former APRA deputy chairman Ian Laughlin will give the keynote address, while other speakers include InConsult director Tony Harb, AMP Chief Risk Officer Saskia Goedhart and Hivint Regional Director NSW Eric Pinkerton.
The seminar is at the Actuaries Institute office at 50 Carrington Street, Sydney, from 10am-5.40pm.
