Brett Bassett is the new Australian Investments and Securities Commission (ASIC) Queensland Regional Commissioner.

He has been with ASIC since 2009 when he joined as Senior Executive Leader – Compliance and Deterrence.

Mr Bassett replaces Pamela Hanrahan. He will take up the role on December 1.

Previous positions have included regulatory roles with the Office of Fair Trading (NSW) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. He was also a director at Deloitte consulting on investigations and fraud risk management.
